Sheri’s leading of the Quality Assurance SIG is what drew me in to the IGDA. The visible efforts I saw there made me want to get involved. After a brief introduction at GDC, she had roped me in, and had showed me what the IGDA was capable of.

The community she helped foster in the QA SIG is one that I am proud of being part of. Her recent efforts in operations with the IGDA have helped ensure that the organization’s priorities and scope were targeted and effective.

I’m glad to have had Sheri as an introduction to the organization, a partner on the QA SIG Steering Committee and as a friend.

  • Ernest W. Adams

I’m Ernest Adams and I endorse Sheri Rubin’s candidacy. She has been a longtime volunteer for the IGDA, is energetic, bright, and an all-round Good Egg. Plus she changed her name from Pocilowoskoviszczekoffsky, and I applaud that.

  • John Feil

Who could not endorse Sheri for Board of Directors? Certainly not me! Vote for Sheri!

I believe Sheri is an excellent choice for the IGDA Board of Directors! I’ve worked with Sheri throughout the last few years on all things IGDA and she has always been a blast to work with. She always responds quickly, keeps things fun and gets the work done. I think Sheri will be an awesome addition to the board and will really help make the organization better.

I look forward to working with Sheri to further the game development industry!

  • Mitzi McGilvray

I would like to recommend Sheri for the IGDA Board of Directors. She is passionate about both the game industry and the mission of the IGDA. She proves this time and time again through her efforts as a volunteer and advocate. She’s bright, hard working and willing to do what it take to get the job done. Sheri Rubin would be an asset to the IGDA Board of Directors.

I also recommend Sheri for the IGDA board. She’s already contributed a lot of time and effort to the cause, and I think she’d make a fine board member.

  • http://www.facebook.com/guonbeeman Ellen Beeman

Sheri is already a strong game industry contributor, very active in the game industry community, and she would bring a great perspective to the board. Plus, she really gets stuff done! I think she would be an exceptional addition to the IGDA Board.

  • Catherine-Rose Wendt

Sheri would be a great addition to the IGDA Board of Directors. She is an incredible project manager – someone who really gets things done (and done well). Sheri is wonderful at making connections and fostering strong relationships, which is a fantastic asset when it comes to continuing to build the org. She has also been a fiercely loyal and dedicated part of the IGDA for ages and knows it inside and out. I can’t think of anyone better suited for the job.

Sheri has been critical in getting our budding IGDA Chicago chapter off of the ground. Her organizational skills and attention to detail are impressive. Her dedication outside of our chapter (with the GGJ and other endeavors) is equally remarkable. She would make an excellent addition to the IGDA Board of Directors.

I have worked with Sheri on a few projects as part of the 2011 IGDA Women in Games SIG Steering Committee and as a Chapter Leader. Seeing her drive has given me the impression she could do great things for the organization as a whole (not that she isn’t already) and I endorse her to run for the IGDA Board of Directors.

Sheri is one of a kind. You will find no other member of the IGDA who is more dedicated and passionate about the organization. She is studied, organized and open-minded. With Sheri as a member of the IGDA Board of Directors the organization as a whole will receive the professional and generous attention she is already providing to so many parts of it including: SIGs, Chapters and Events. Vote Sheri for IGDA Board of Directors! I’m going to.

Sheri helped me kickstart IGDA Chicago when it had been dormant for quite some time. Even though she lived far outside of Chicago she took the time to come down and meet with me and offer up tons of advice. I am now proud to say that she and I are serving on the IGDA Chicago BoD together after a year and a half of successful programming and events!

  • http://twitter.com/IanSchreiber Ian Schreiber

Sheri has organized so many events that I’ve been involved with. Energetic, reliable, and totally gets what IGDA is about.

Sheri is almost too dedicated to the IGDA. Her dedication is infectious, however, and that’s what makes her the right person to vote for. She draws out other people’s passions and directs it toward the “good fight.” She’s passionate, honest, and finally has a last name people can pronounce.

  • Andy Walsh

Positive in approach and a happy people person, Sheri thinks before she acts and takes her role in IGDA very seriously. A dedicated, long-term fan of IGDA’s work, Sheri is committed to helping the organisation move forward and it would be great to have her on the board.

Simply put, Sheri is one of the most helpful people I know. She’s also extremely knowledgeable, but in the rare event that she doesn’t immediately know something, she’ll help you find it with lightening speed! Her knack for connecting people is equally impressive. I’ve both witnessed her introducing folks that could really benefit from knowing each other, as well as been introduced to amazing new friends thanks to Sheri!

Sheri came to IGDA Chicago at an absolutely perfect time. We were looking at formalizing the chapter at the end of 2011 and Sheri, with her wealth of experience and knowledge about IGDA processes, guided us through a superbly organized and painless formalization process.

Sheri is essentially the person I look to for IGDA wisdom. She’s been active with IGDA since 1999 and stands as an amazing example of dedicated volunteerism in the organization. Hands down, I cannot think of a person better suited to serve on the Board of Directors! Sheri’s qualifications are impeccable.

  • Sheri Graner Ray

Sheri Rubin was one of the foundation people that Women in Games International leaned on in the beginning to get things done. From the very beginning she was there, helping wherever needed. Additionally her ability to see things that WILL need to be done is extremely useful for organizations like WIGI and IGDA.

I strongly support Sheri Rubin in her candidacy for the IGDA Board!

  • Gordon Walton

I recommend Sheri for the board. She’s clearly got the passion and community service spirit needed for the job!

  • Rob Thompson

Sheri’s leadership of the IGDA QA SIG for 5+ years now has provided regular forums and conference sessions allowing our professional discipline to grow within the IGDA and entertainment software development community. Her leadership style fosters team work and respect amongst SIG members and session attendees.
I recommend and support Sheri Rubin for a position on the IGDA Board of Directors.

Sheri has a ton of energy, knows everything to know about IGDA operations, history, and things that influence strategy.

She has a ton of integrity and is a true advocate for volunteers and the community members. I think she also likes Canadians and project managers but don’t hold that against her. :)

If you notice a buzz about Global Game Jam after event “play the game parties”, it’s because Sheri has been organizing these across the world.

  • Kate Edwards

I’ve known Sheri for a few years now as we’ve both been very involved in IGDA efforts, in various capacities. Sheri has been a force of action and change, a true doer who can be direct and decisive while also collaborative and encouraging. She’s a rare combination of passion and follow-through, and I wholeheartedly endorse her bid for a seat on the IGDA Board of Directors.

  • http://www.facebook.com/foaad Foaad Khosmood

Sheri is incredibly dedicated and enthusiastic about games and the community. We at Global Game Jam appreciate her volunteering to help with this year’s event.

  • Chris Oltyan

Sheri has been one of the most active IGDA volunteers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I know the organization is stronger for her efforts and I’m glad she’s looking to contribute even more.

  • http://www.satori.org Mark DeLoura

Sheri is a leader in the IGDA who has held a wide variety of roles sustained over a long period of time – she’s very much a “get it done” personality, which the IGDA highly benefits from. Sheri probably knows more about the org and its history than just about anyone. She’s practically already on the board… just not voted onto it yet. So please help us fix that oversight. Sheri for IGDA!

It has been my great pleasure to know and work with Sheri, both as the Executive Director and also as a Lifetime Member of the IGDA. Sheri’s passion for the organization is enduring and vibrant, and comes through in everything she does. I could never has asked for anyone as more ardent and motivated to advocate on behalf of the membership.

Beyond talk, Sheri is a person of action. She is willing to step up and work with anyone to get the job done. Should it be required, she also will simply take on a task that needs accomplishing and make sure that it gets handled. I was very grateful to have her support and efforts in bringing the SIGs from a set of virtual groups that were heading off in different directions to helping to bring them together and better support the leaders and SIG members from the national office. Sheri stepped in and supported each SIG in running elections and forming their own direction without imposing her own agenda on any of them.

While Sheri certainly holds steadfast to her values and will stand against the tide for something she believes in, I have also found her willing to discuss positions and allow her own opinions to be changed should someone present her with facts or alternatives that fit within the value she hold true. She is wise enough to understand that sometimes a sledgehammer is the right tool, and sometimes a velvet glove can better accomplish the mission.

I truly appreciate Sheri and can think of no one better suited to the IGDA Board.

  • Corvus Elrod

Through my years of involvement with the ever-shifting political landscape of the IGDA there has been one constant–Sheri Rubin.

Whether in her former position as a staff member, or as the super volunteer she’s proven herself to be, Sheri is always willing to pitch in and help get things done. She’s been instrumental in forming SIGs, fostering conversation, and inspiring more involvement from a great many more volunteers.

I cannot help but imagine she would be even more of an asset to the organization as a board member. Please vote for her in the upcoming election. I will be.

  • Sara Moore

I fully endorse Sheri’s candidacy. Sheri is not only a long-time volunteer of the IGDA, but an active member in all networks of the game industry. From women in games to various SIG groups, Sheri has made it her personal mission to connect game industry members through the IGDA and I cannot think of a better possible individual for the role.

  • Jonathon Myers

She has done some incredible work for the IGDA. I’m not sure I know of anyone who has devoted as much volunteer time toward this organization.
